As some of you may or may not be aware, throughout the month of February 2008, all production on Happy Jar comics suddenly ceased. Experts theorize that this was directly responsible for the opening of immense, dark voids in as many as three people's lives - presumably the entire readership of Happy Jar. Those affected suffered what can only be described as extreme bouts of depression, feeling empty on the whole and, upon questioning the very state of ones corporeal being, a devout reader from Ohio even took to taking his own life, leaving total readership count at a modest two.
The cause of said webcomic drought was widely regarded to be the inherent laziness of the writing team, who, after having recycled no less than two thirds of all Happy Jar jokes, had already run out of ideas. Others still believe the cause to have stemmed from the artist suffering a chronic, if not, rare case of amnesia which, curiously enough, targets only the portions of the brain designated to the remembering of how to draw simple geometric shapes and stick figures.
It is now known, as of March 3 2008, that the real cause for Happy Jar's absence was due to the artist selfishly having taken a month off of the grind of churning out high grade eight-year-old quality artwork week after week to go to Japan. The inability to think ahead and draw up four to five comics in advance has widely been regarded as a bad move, and parents of the child whose life was tragically lost to a combination of this event and his own idiocy have pressed charges.
Upon a heartfelt testimony from Mrs. Mother of Jimmy, the self-mutilating boy wonder, defendant Tom Fonder is on record to have quoted 'cram a bastard in it, lady'. He lost the court case soon after, leaving the Happy Jar team with dwindling funds and readership. Tobias Phoenix has stated that the duo intend to carry on through this rough period, bringing the weekly psuedo-funny and generally just rocking ass. Plans to setup a new website as base of operations were dismissed as 'wishful thinking'.
Fonder is still a total jerk.
